A Vets Wife; S Response Poem by louis rams

A Vets Wife; S Response

A vets wife's response

She knew she had to fight for her man
That's when she decided to take a stand.
He was wheelchair bound, but a better man could not be found
Lost his legs defending this nation, and the wheelchair
Was his compensation.

that was when she responded:he lost his legs defending you
So this part of lifeyou wouldn't have to go thru.
If we thought like you, we would not have a country
To call our own, this country would just be bricks and stone.
Other countries want to see us fall so they could think
That they have it all.

Embarrassed - the man walked away there was nothing
more that he could say.
Sothink " TWICE "
and never ask a vet
If it was worth the " SACRIFICE "
