A Visit To North East Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

A Visit To North East

from the lofty hills
comes down the sound
of conchs and cymbals

the clouds hang over
to pour cool rain as the
priests sing prayers

from the tall trees
emanates the melodies
of vedic chants

as flowers shed essences
and people gather to
take blessings

I am here in a
land of mystic beauty
far from the chaos
of my city life
