A Walk In The Woods In The Fall Poem by Dwayne Rankin

A Walk In The Woods In The Fall

Rating: 5.0

One day I thought to take a walk,
With winter coming soon.
On past the creek and through the woods,
That early afternoon.

When through the branches of the tree,
I saw a glistening light.
It was the sun light shining on,
The flowing waters, bright.

'Twas there I stopped next to that stream
To rest my weary feet.
And there I soaked them both within
Those cool waters, sweet.

The sun was peeking through those branches,
Onto those waters, fair.
Reflecting off a misty spray,
From waters splashing there.

Then as I sat there for a while,
And watched those waters flow.
Unto that surface there I spied,
A bright November show.

For golden leaves were flowing by,
Within that bubbling brook.
halving fallen off the trees,
Which brought that Autumn look.

Then glancing round I saw up high,
The colors in those trees.
Seen golden in the sun's own light,
Then loosened by the breeze.

The walk I took that afternoon
Within that wooded hall.
I saw those signs I longed to see;
The wonders of the Fall.

It's amazing what you can see in nature if you look and listen. A great poem.
