let us begin a walk from darkness to light
let us together take a simple walk of peace from darkness to light
let us walk openly through the streets of each others neighbourhoods
together in the light of daylight
when two men may meet greet each other upon the street
as friends kiss each other upon the cheek in meeting greeting
with polite words of recognition respect warmth expressed
in sincere signs of welcome
when a Jewish man and a Muslim man may wear clothes
defining their religion walk down the street together dressed
as an Orthodox Jewish man and a Devout Muslim man
walk together as friends through a Jewish neighbourhood
and a Muslim neighbourhood greeted with love blessings
friendship both as recognized descendent children of Abraham
as brothers of the same father walking living disciples of peace
fellowship freely walking together when each can be welcomed
in clothing of their own pure peaceful belief in synagogue
or mosque of each others faith on their own holy days
then celebrate the long awaited homecoming welcome of brothers
who have walked from darkness into light
fear divides, it takes courage to take a leap of faith,
love to walk in peace, fear hate intolerance are chains;
freedom loves trusts builds bridges hopes endures,
let us build rainbow coloured bridges, from darkness to light;
