A.WORLD.FULL.OF.JOYOUS.POETS

When.phonetics.of.language.presides

and.the.written.word.to.background.recedes,

the.mind .is.a.vast. cista,

children.have.new.vistas .

Borders.don't.deter .Their.future.they.decide.

Dream. of.a.world , full.of.joyous.poets,

where. every.exchange.is.like.a.duet .

Anger, sorrow, .delight,

in.verse.express.them.right .

Are.you.a.wet.blanket?Then.be.quiet.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Language is first and foremost a phonetic means of communication. The written word is a poor subsstitute. What I propose is that the children should be taught the phonetics first and then the written word. This is lacking in our education system. Pronunciation is a forgotten skill. Children should be encouraged themselves to speak and express their experiences colourfully-poetically.Poetic expressions have no borders or language barriers. I think this is a vast unexplored area of our education system. I am not talking merely of English. All languages are taught through the written word more than the phonetic part. Children as they grow up, their ability to express gets limited. Thousands of years ago all communications were oral. Now everything is written down. This has to change.Of course there are those who oppose -I have called them 'wet blankets'- they have vested interest in the current system.

You are quite right....! In our educational system there is less stress laid on oral practice while written assignments are given a lot of importance. As a result our students are able to write well. But when it comes to talking, students lack communication skills. They fail miserably in interviews. This restricts even brighter students from getting placed in lucrative professions! A commendable suggestion!
