A Worst Part Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

A Worst Part

Rating: 5.0

It was worst part to witness
Her health was worsening in any case
We feared it would be her last breathe
She will not be any more with

Will she be talking no more?
Where will she be going for?
We had tearful eyes with so much remorse
It can be called final farewell of course

We shall bid her bye forever
She may remain at our heart however
Why such thing should happen at all?
At least mother should not have received such call

I wanted to hear parting words
Her silence was baffling me onward
I saw at sky and prayed God with no ease
I virtually begged of Him for new lease

Neither stars assured me nor the sky
I could not ask for the reason why
The heavenly bodies seemed not to be in position?
Was it blind faith on my part or superstition?

For me as small kid it was new thing
It had no bearing on something
They had planned to take her away
I was crying silently all the way

The health was deteriorating very fast
I feared she may not survive or last
She had few more hours to go
I cried loudly as her breathe was going slow

She would be no more and thing of past
There is nothing more left for doubts to cast
She will be heavenly abode and would not return
Body will be surrendered to earth or allowed to burn

I remember she spoke very little
She worked for everybody as shuttle
She would attend to father and then rush to brother
She had absolutely no priority for others

She would not sit quietly and order
Her voice may be like thunder
She was totally different when in anger
But she was able administrator and manager

She did not hurt anybody and looked after well
In her absence the home was turning into hell
She would anticipate it before hand
All will be turned well at the end

I felt she had over stretched
Nobody could have ever matched
It was her lasting wish to keep us united
Many a times she had complained and regretted

I am pretty sure she will stage a comeback
Her voice will be heard gently and crack
We shall miss her in every non living thing
She will be remembered long for everything

* I can’t explain any more as body is taken away from us*
