A Writers Life Poem by Dorsey Baker

A Writers Life

He stood
looking in the mirror
at the reflection
of himself
the darkness
appearing in his eyes
it told him the whole
story of his life
he could see the illusions
he could see the reality
his mind
and his heart
they told him
what he must do
told him its a rough
road he must travel
lightning don't always strike
dogs don't always bite
but
a writer
must always write!
