A Year Poem by Marilyn Jean

A Year

The year came and passed away
Hugging me as it went by
I smiled back, politely, bye
I remember it, cold, without regret

Its main dish was tough, eaten cold
Almost chocking me as I swallowed
The tiny desert came late, bittersweet
NOW waiting for the next to come
