A Year Says, Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

A Year Says,

A Year Says,

A year says,
good passage,

A year says,
Self congratulations,

A year say,
ominous dark clouds,
uncertain disturbingly ambiguous,
prophecies and loud
weather's alarms,

metaphors,
and dooms days,
signals,

A year say continued vigilance,

Said it with doctors
treating your conditions,

barely assuring as a good nights,
quality sleeps,
or a morrow with good omen,

barely melancholily suspended,
heart blockages,
or decline kidney functions,

from years ago negligence,
and asymptomatic symptoms,

which necessitate
a medical emergency,

It makes a difference,
In costly cares,
and lab tests,
and self control.

if your still barely alive,
and harnessing poetry
as therapeutic placebo,

as you can say
barely survived the urgently

medical declaration
as a statistics,
and a dead certificates,
