Absolutions Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

Absolutions

Absolutions

For I will go from torch of days, filaments of reborn flower,
the days sweeping away,
into my awry senses

In front of corteges, life folding you into my arms, holding you like a lover,

paid dues, gave homage, not withered away like a true believer,
Your prisoner of multitasks,

The night's unlike any nights,
The days like luxury,

Follow you like a child holding the mother's hand,
like the tales of arabesques land, ghost of wandering spirit,
Body transported merged into the temple of mystique life,

Gave values from search,
Arraigned for crimes never committed,

Push and following the path,
From woes of the womb,
Into the birth of life,

Into my days of candor, night stories,
Calming my wounds,
Learning day of travails,
Forgiveness like balms,

Pamper myself with miles and miles of forgiven air.
