Abolish Ant Slavery! Poem by Paul Hartal

Abolish Ant Slavery!

Rating: 5.0

The Secretary of the United Animals Organization
was a Frog. "How can I help you? " he asked.

The Head of the Ant Delegation was visibly nervous.
"We are here", he began, "to demand again to put
an end to ant slavery. Abolish it completely once and
for all! "

"Ant slavery, ant slavery", frowned the frog.

"Yes, ant slavery", repeated the Ant Delegation Head.
His antennae trembled with silent angst.

" But what is exactly the problem? " asked the frog
and adjusted his green necktie.

"As you probably will recall", explained
the Delegation Head, "robber ants from
the tribe Formica sanguinea, a blood-red species of
despicable pirates routinely raid our nests and kidnap
our young generation. We belong to a peaceful tribe,
the Formica fusca species. The blood-red pirates attack
us, steal our pupae and when the young ants develop to
adults the kidnappers enslave them. We demand to
stop immediately all aggression, piracy and slavery! "

"All right", said the frog. "You can rest assured that
the Honorable Members of this Organization will
convene soon and enact a new resolution regarding
the problem of ant slavery."
