Abundance And Absence Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Abundance And Absence

It is the goal of most to acquire a lifetime
Of material worth… giving comfort and affection
A kind of satisfaction that lasts for a longtime
Oddly, these assets can become an affliction

Surround by the gleam of silver and precious gold
All else tarnishes by comparison and gesture
The warmth of old friendships begins to run cold
Relationships revolve around profitable conjecture
