For many this new year may be the same as the old
Pains and suffering and stories untold.
the homeless are still homeless, the sick are still sick
No changes are ever quick.
Abused wives are afraid to speak, and the help they do not seek.
The children are used as pawns in this game and like the mother
Threatened the same.
The abuser thinks that this is the norm, if he grew up in a house of storm.
His father had done this to his entire family, and that's the way
Things had to be.
The man would decide the things that must be done, and if you disagreed
The beatings begun
then there are those who are a control freak who love to abuse the
Silent and meek.
The abuser says: she has no money and no place to go!
But if he's in jail how will he know!
Gather your strength so that you can leave and on your fears he will not feed.
Then in her mind the decision was made, no longer will she
Go through the pain,
She finally stood up for what she knew was right and began
The final fight.
He went to jail for assault and battery and that was the first step
Of becoming free.
