Acceptance Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

Acceptance

Rating: 5.0

The world is filled with intolerance
That often affects one's trend of thought,
But to know you are loved and accepted
Lifts your spirits when you are distraught.

It's all right to say, 'I accept you'
In a sincere and vigorous way
Regardless of race, color, or creed,
Or what you honorably stand for today.

Not being accepted is like living in limbo
When none of your peers come to call,
But when you are accepted as you are,
You will fill proud and tall among them all.

Acceptance is like a rainbow after a storm,
The fragrance of lilacs on a Spring day,
A beautiful sunset in a serene summer sky,
And chases your feelings of insecurity away.
