Adoration Poem by Elizabeth Kurian

Adoration

Rating: 4.5

I broke my heart at your feet
But you did not deign
To glance at my offering.

Is my heart of less consequence
Than a coconut offered
By a devotee to a deity?

Or is your heart harder
Than the stones
From which idols are carved?

Simple but poignant with a strong sense of ache over the desertion! !
