Adore Donkey Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

You have always remained my ideal
I remembered you whenever entered any deal
How did it help me to have honest feeling?
When I was cent percent sure and willing

“You fool and donkey” I feel bad when hear the outburst
I always believed in this pet animal and trust
What a noble living with no voice of dissent
No self honor, no bad feeling and no response to be sent

I have learnt a lot from this obedient and faithful animal
You stay blessed always with performance considered as dismal
People may leave you with excuses and take no notice
You will not be treated harmful even with breach of promises

At home also I buy a peace with no adverse remark
Only sometimes loud shout from wife like dog’s bark
I take it as blessings and do work silently
As it grants me complete peace in mind gently

Friends also let me off the hook without problems
They consider me hopeless and harmless animals
But I find this position completely acceptable
As it keeps me in sound condition and very stable

If at all I have to feel bad then it will be this animal only
How much insult and heavy load is tolerated lonely?
If has to bless anybody on this earth planet
Then it should be “Donkey” only with all the facilities to let

If there exists full wisdom
It is in this animal and realized seldom
If something is not obeyed due to heavy load
Then we can’t blame this poor creature on the road

We beat mercilessly with so many abuses
If with some reasons unable to move or refuses
Whole hell is let loose and mercilessly beaten
Even if no harm is done or anything forcibly eaten
