Again I Come Back Poem by Sankar Sarkar

Again I Come Back

Rating: 5.0

Again I come back here
I’m bound to come back here
Like a river like a winding path
From where I started again
There I return again and again
Where we were friends or foes,
Lovers and beloved anything else
Under the impulse of touching moment
I was I am and I will be rhythmic
If nobody can know me
And calls me by name
The lining layer of heart of the soil
Must respond to my treadle of touch
Bottomless sky and piercing peaks,
Fathomless Ocean and unending plains
Beckon me to their eternal cradle
No fear no despair no fear of loss,
No foaming and groaning billow in heart

I come and will be coming ever here
Whether you call me or not
Whether you love or hate me
Yet I’ve to come I’ve to respond to this soil
One day I must reach walking alone
I’m expected to reach beyond the awkward
Walking along the crazy brink of the Ganges,
By the beckoning of the space
Grey or pale, white or black
Red or green the soil of India
My soul bubbles both in solitude
And multitude as an Indian
This body and mind stink of smell of soil,
That makes me dream of the magnanimity,
As I am condign everywhere
And am illustrious in this spacious world
Both the lighted and dark roads,
Hell and heaven known to my soul,
I’m here, and I will be here forever T
Through birth and death,
And evolution and revolution
Seem concomitant in the creation, .
As inseparable in the debris of the separate
I’m ever haunted traveler everywhere
My whet heart discovers the thrillers
In the wakeful world of wounded moments,
On the soil before being spoiled;
I need not go far further
I come back I come back here
Along the endless path with countless mirth

Another nice poem. I got the tune of 'Abar asibo fire ei Banglai... by Jibanananda Das. But here you approach is quite different. You poem appeals for the whole motherland, India. Excellent work. I really like to read it. Best wishes..

Your love, affection, patriotism don't allow you to leave the soil and you come back. A poem full of devotion to motherland.

We come into this world with no material things and we leaved the same. But we came from dust and to dust we will return. In your case, the soil of India in mine a different place but the cycle remains the same. Just different rituals and rights of passage. But as another has said, dust to dust was not spoke of the soul, that is eternal.
