Age And Youth

In a prime time meeting
of age and youth,
youth's mentor,
which had lavished powers for show,
left it with nothing to contend with but yearning,
while age's,
having held powers in store
out of knowledge of inevitability,
left age in the box-seat for sure.

Says it all, that youth needed a mentor is indicative of its naievity or realization that it needed advice and ultimately it would become transformed to be aged and perhaps a sage disposition would be assured with the passage of time.
