We are told to be proud of who we are,
We embrace this false pride so that we can believe in something,
But we can only take this so far,
It’s hard to be proud when you’re practically nothing
Shaven life itchy and prickly,
The hair on the back of our necks stands up,
If time flies, than life flies quickly,
Quicker than life is an end so abrupt
And your time is already over in world so cold and corrupt
We all want to believe that we matter,
But before you know it you’ll be gone,
The dreams of being remembered will shatter,
And the world will spin madly on
The sun will still set and a new day will dawn
