Ain't At Peace Poem by Dorsey Baker

Ain't At Peace

you're out of the war
But still you ain't at peace
You're out of the war
But still you ain't at peace

In your remembrance
In your nightmares
It's still bothering you
As it will always be

When you've been in a war
It never goes away
When you fight in a war
That's the price you
Might have to pay

You're out of the war
But still you ain't at peace
You come home
But in your mind!
You might still be on the battlefield
Mental or physical!
wounds of the battleground
Are hard to heal!
You're out of the war
But still
You ain't at peace!
