Albert Thomason Poem by Francis Duggan

Albert Thomason

A character is Albert in his own friendly way
And he never fails to greet you with a smile and a good day
A familiar face in Sherbrooke in the mountain countryside
And from Emerald to Upwey he is known both far and wide.

Raised his family in Emerald and still lives there with his wife
And he is well known in that Town been there for more than half his life
Came to live in the high country twenty three long years ago
And in all of the Dandenong Ranges there's not many he doesn't know.

There is nothing mean in Albert he's a good and decent man
If you need him he will help you he will help you if he can
But he'll not be intimidated he's not one who can be bluffed
And if you try to Rubbish Albert he will tell you to 'get stuffed'.

He has lived for years in Emerald and his heart's in the right place
And in the Dandenong Ranges his is a familiar face
And he is well liked in Sherbrooke in the mountain countryside
And from Emerald to Upwey he is known both far and wide.
