This is a good warning for those who need to curb their drinking habits. My five year 'partner' died of alcoholism around sixteen years ago, and his talents were swallowed alive by his drinking addiction too while living. What a shame. What a waste. Good to integrate a watchword on alcohol into poetry as we tend to celebrate it only therethrough.

A very compelling and forthright poem on the ravages of alcohol. Written in a heartfelt and helpful way. Nicely done!

Let's hope your honest write finds those who need it most...swallowed deep. The pains that alcohol abuse brings about is of epic proportions, not only for those who pick up the bottle, but also for those who have to witness their glass as always being empty....I applaud your honesty, and wish you PEACE in diversity.
