All Are Heroes Poem by Ray Hansell

All Are Heroes

A single mother raising two children on her own
A homeless man or woman who see no hope for a future
But struggle to survive each day
Homeless children the saddest of all to see
Hoping for a future better than their current existence
People at a cancer treatment center
Some so weak they can barely walk
But all with hope in their eyes that they can survive
All first responders who get in harms way to save us
Police, firefighters and paramedics
The one's we look to when all things go wrong
The one's we call so quick when we need help
Yet, the first we criticize and complain about
Because we think they took too long get to us
To all the military personal
Who protect us around the clock
So, our freedom's and way of life remain as they are
For those many workers who work ungodly hours
So we can have the things we want in life
To all the doctors and nurses out there
Who mend us when we break, who cure us when we're sick
To all the friends out there who lend a helping hand
That goes unnoticed except to the one's they are helping
To all the people who lend a shoulder for someone to cry on
To all the teachers trying to teach the right way

Heroes are all kinds of people
In all walks of life
They come in all shapes, colors and sizes
The one thing they all have in common
When helping other's they never think twice

A beautiful poem extolling the determination and selflessness of heroes. Beautiful because it's true! Well-written.
