All Around Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

All Around

All around

"There is a difference..."
They say
"Between telling a story and being a story, "

I agree.

I have read Iliad (in Rush)
And Odyssey (the same)

That is telling a story
Brain storming; nice

But the girl
Her neck thin
Her pants hanging
Her hands to her sides
In India
Hung after rape

And the bearded American soldier
Exchanged by Taliban
A deserter to some
Valuable to some

They are the stories
Never correctly told
As are
One breathless
One forced into breathlessness
Copies of the Homer's heroes
And their similars

All around
