All For Nothing Poem by Natasha Andeyi

All For Nothing

Everything happens for a reason, so they say,
The reason the universe precisely planned for our beautiful souls before our time began,
It's no coincidence we walked into each other's lives the way we did,
It can't all be for nothing.

Whether I end up wrapped in your hug as a friend or the role I solemnly crave,
I'll have a reason to be grateful either way,
Something to make my heart dance besides the beats that give it the reasons to believe,
For these feelings can't be for nothing.

If only time could fast forward to the future destined for the both of us,
But that's not an option, so all we can do is make it our greatest ally.
I'll learn all that there is about you, Love the beautiful marks you call scars,
And help you perceive the lessons from your experiences in the past.
You're art, the greatest masterpiece to walk my way.
So before our future unfolds, let's embrace the now which isn't all for nothing.
