Adrift, adrift
Searching for a connection
That I could imagine
But could not achieve
Amidst the rustle of the sea
For I shrank, I did not see
Just followed the pulse
Felt like substance abuse
The path of the exile
Buried deep beneath an isle
As roots became a murmur
Echoes softly the tremors of the trial
Looking up, looking out
A firebird on the ground
Was bound to bring this drought:
Answers elude like a distant spout.
The vessel, while makeshift
Brought me here atop this cliff
All said, I'm back to the skiff
Adrift, adrift.
