All The Earthly Disappointments Poem by Doris Cornago

All The Earthly Disappointments

At last, my dreams have finally come true
All the earthly disappointments
Distilled and released
From within
Leaving
A
Shell
Coming out
In the open of who I
Truly am, no longer concerned
About prescribed punishments for a misstep

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
In genre studies, a coming-of-age story is a genre of literature and film that focuses on the growth of a protagonist from youth to adulthood ('coming of age') . Coming-of-age stories tend to emphasize dialogue or internal monologue over action, and are often set in the past. It may come early or late, depending on whether you want to confront 'truths' you've been told and suffer consequences or punishments for daring to go beyond what you are allowed.

I have a third eye but I must be careful of revealing to anyone because of the branding which could make me unpopular or suspect for being evil. Everybody has a third eye but not all dare to acknowledge or use it.
