Allen Ginsberg,
A hippie as he saw India,
Discovered and re-discovered it,
Saw the burning ghats of Benares,
Lived in the company
Of yogis, sadhus and fakirs,
A temporary resident of Calcutta and Benares
Shuttling in between,
Moving to the Himalayas
In search of occult wisdom,
A Jew Christian,
Inclined to the Buddhist, the Hindu
Landing in India
As a visitor, tourist, pilgrim, ,
A rebel, a leftist, an idealist,
A revolutionary, a movement man
The Beat man, the hippie,
Hare Rama Hare Krishna Movement man,
Deriving delight from
Om, . Om, Hari Om,
Singing and dancing
And saying,
Hari, Hari.
