Always There - Poem by luther cascade

They have always been there,
With the pains I've cause them.
I can't believe they'r still there.
By my side and going nowhere.

Since i was an infant
They were there
My first school fight
They were there
I dropped out of school
They were there
I got pulled over by a cop
They were there
Booked in jail
They were there
Using drugs in need of help
They were there
I needed a place to live
They were there

I've cursed & pushed them away,
During rebellious times despite the effort
They were always there
Their cars I took and crash
Their money I took their lives I've hurt
They were still there
Counless money drained in courts
And when accused of drugs,
Their support was still there
I ran away several times,
Alcoholic was a trade of mine
Their intentions to help were there

They have always been there
I can't run away from them,
I can't hide from them,
I can't live without them
My parents I love them.
I come to realize my mistakes
And learn to cherish the only people
Who care whether I live or die anothey day
I know they will always be there
And for them I will always be here.
