Am I Losing Anything? Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Am I Losing Anything?

"Am I losing anything? "
It's the very relevant question,
Which reels in everybody's ambitious mind today,
Everybody wants to win and get as much as he can
From the soil of this hearth.
Even one who possesses a lot and has been winning the game since the long past, remains unsaturated,
When he thinks that his neighbour or competitor gains more than him;
This obscene thought wrinkles him and makes him unstable and indecisive all the time.
It's the natural trend of this harsh time,
The greedy man aspires for profit only,
He wants more and more knowing not how much he needs,
Truly speaking he wants to grab everything.
Win, win and win,
Gain, gain and gain,
That's everything for him,
Defeat or loss is always detestable to him,
Even it may be for the greatest moral cause,
In every situation he considers defeat useless or irrelevant.
Even when he reaches at the last stage of life,
He asks himself secretly,
"Have I lost anything in life? "
Poor fellow does not know that he has lost everything.
