Amarillo's In The Spring

Bulbs in the ground
wrapped around are the leaves
end to end.
Smiling
one large root in her hand
with water she brings it to life.
Humming birds
fly back and forth looking
they look for her smile.
Inane eyes eyes so Lovejoy
bright
she could not but think
what a smile planted brings
that springs forth in search
of the light.
