An Antidote To The Crudely Materialistic West. Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

An Antidote To The Crudely Materialistic West.

Rating: 5.0

A mystic is attracted
by the ancient monastic
and contemplative
tradition of the East.

It becomes for him, an antidote
to a crudely materialistic,
manipulative,
over-intellectualized
and egocentric West.

Hi, Tony! This makes me think of how the Christian tradition is often thought of or characterized as “western” when, indeed, it is another one from the east. (The holy land is part of southwest Asia.) And Jesus is among those who call us from getting to appreciating the riches and splendor of what God has already given and daily gives to us. -Glen
