An Apocalypse Of Surfers Poem by Elle Rose

An Apocalypse Of Surfers

Rating: 5.0

I am a rock
Quack quack
I am displaying my emotions
Quack quack
I am in love with a dragonfly
But he doesn't care about me
Sad.
Pity.
Self-loathing and contempt.
Bereft and despondent.
Though persevere I shall
I have no knowledge of Netflix or sleepovers
I don't believe in the institution of marriage
Mostly because I don't know what it is
I have never felt love because I can't identify such a thing
Perhaps I have
Do you see how I am whatever I please
When I choose to be ignorant to what I have been assigned?
I am a rock
But I am also a wad of gum of the shoe of God
I am a cell in a fish bone in a grocery store
I am the stars above a splintered rowboat on a black lake
I am the kiss shared by young lovers
I am the dimple on a girls cheek
I am a rock
But I also am a quack
Whatever that may be
Quack quack
No one can correct me when I call the sky the sea
And the sun the moon
I am a murderer
But I'm not
I don't define the words I call myself
And morals don't apply to me so
I am everything at once
I am a water
I am a dust
I am a rock
Quack qua
