An Awakening Overture Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

An Awakening Overture

Waking up in the early morning, being stung by realizations
of an interior memory hanging gently within.

Looking out the window, reliving memories that happen to be
inviting themselves into this mind.

Joining an intense energy that was building overnight; upon
awakening, insistently moving into an awakening overture of
melodies and rhythms.

Tackling sleepiness still clinging to these blue, green,
gray eyes, watching the morning sun rise slowly over the
Superstition Mountains in the east.
