An Easter Song Poem by Varghese J Kuttikat

An Easter Song

Each being gets mightily startled
To find himself in settings
Designed sometimes exquisite
Lit with love and smelling sweet
Sometimes utterly unguarded, unloved and unlit
Perhaps, some are born to be crucified and buried
But, to rise from one's grave and transfigure the instrument
Of torture and murder into a crown blooming out radiant
Profusely scented with love all-forgiving, benevolent
Is the miracle of miracles, and the solemn mystery of Easter jubilant
Love supreme invites us to share in hope, love-inspired
That would supply us wings to soar up heavenward
And eyes to see through the thickest dark wild
Unfolding vistas of blessedness, sun-lit or moon-lit
