An Exhausting And Challenging Task Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

An Exhausting And Challenging Task

Assessing reality and the facts,
Has become an exhausting and challenging...
Task.
Some believe reality,
Has been set in stone.
Erected in statues that falsify the truth.
Others much younger,
Perceive their reality...
Is what the movies TV shows produce.
And raised on game shows,
Sports and entertainment of all kinds.

Assessing reality and the facts.
Today?
What would be the point made?
There is an absence in confidence,
In leadership.
Incompetence has made its presence well known.
People everywhere are making claims,
What they have stolen is theirs to own.
And...
Have done to do this,
Since Jesus was depicted...
To have flowing blond hair and blue eyes.
And Elizabeth Taylor?
There are many who refuse to disbelieve,
She is not Cleopatra.

Assessing reality and the facts?
What today can not be easier purchased,
With cards made of plastic.
And pretensions just as false as smiles.
Up has been turned down and bottoms?
Every size there is leaves nothing to imagine.
But...
Hopefully,
Truth will someday...
Become a fad everyone has to have.
With it enjoyed to discover,
The lasting affects of it.
Until then...
Assessing anything for its value.
And worth it has to respect and treasure?
Only archeologists seem to realize this,
After a civilization,
Has found progress a boring adventure...
That must be destroyed!
