An Honourable Ordinary Bloke Poem by Francis Duggan

An Honourable Ordinary Bloke

With scarce little money or assets to his name
An ordinary bloke he does not lust for fame
And you never hear him talk about the hard life
And he does not beat his children or he does not beat his wife.

An ordinary bloke and a hard working man
He does his best to live in the best way he can
He works very hard and he earns every pay
And for to help out others he goes out of his way.

He enjoys a few beers on a saturday night
Without being aggressive or looking for fight
To his friends and his family he remains ever true
And he believes to everyone respect is due.

The one who believes on a fair go for all
With his wife he watch their children play football
A man who can tell and laugh at a good joke
The hard working, honourable, ordinary bloke.
