An Innocent Man Poem by Randy McClave

An Innocent Man

A man can scream his innocence
On a platform or across an old wooden fence,
He can state his facts until he's blue in the face
Then and only then can he finally rest his case.
A man can also be deliberately lying
Winning emotions and sentiment he his trying,
Though in the end the jury will finally and spiritually decide
If this man (in their opinion)has told the truth, or lied,
Sadly, so many innocent men have been hung from a tree
Angrily, so many guilty men have been set free,
An innocent man can always be sent to jail
But, truly an innocent man can never be sent to Hell.
