An Observation Poem by Carolyn Brunelle

An Observation

You live long enough, you see alot,
you learn and get to know things;
things you really don't want to know
about people, who they really are.

A family living on nothing but pretense and plastic,
a drinker, a shoplifter, a secret hoarder,
that illegal housekeeper from south of the border;
the couple who cheat on their taxes and one another.

Still, it all goes to show
why your life makes perfect sense
to you now though; and explains
why you prefer your own company.
