An ode to the joy of cigarettes and coffee:
It seems one complements the other perfectly.
Such a splendid way to enhance imperfect hours.
O how they revive the poet's creative powers!
Such guilty pleasures indeed. Naughty but nice and highly addictive and welcoming. A most neat and well written rhyming quatrain on display here Dominic, one I could barely make out through a steamy fresh coffee and thick pungent Marlboro haze. Five stars and well deserved too. Many thanks good sir and I wish you well.

Thanks Shaun. I'm pleased you like this poem. I love the picture of Iggy Pop and Tom Waits which accompanies it. I so miss being able to have a cigarette with a pint in a pub. That anally retentive, bore of a politician, Gordon Brown, banned smoking in pubs without consulting the general population didn't he? I agree with Nigel Farage, there should be some pubs where one is allowed to smoke. People that don't like it don't need to go there...case closed!
