An Unfolding Heart. Poem by Fay Slimm

An Unfolding Heart.

Rating: 5.0

Hearts play a part in mysterious life.
Beating, yet frozen for years, they survive.
At times a momentary flutter appears
With unfolding warmth, but then fears
Of exposure begin, and cold-as-ice
Glassy doors slam shut, holding in vice-like
Jaws unloved hearts. Then one marvellous day
Sweet lightning strikes, sends love and straying
Rainbows pierce a way in, gently they break
And melt the hard shell. Love then re-creates
A different place, a pulsating heart.
Which now unfolded, means loving can start.

Your use of ice, frozen, cold, hard and then melting & rainbows & lightning - ah, you are so clever & your words unfold into the most amazing poetry - thank you. That was wonderful to read 10/10 Fay

Absolutely beautiful, Fay. Every so often something - someone - comes along to thaw the frozen heart that has survived the longest time of loneliness. May your heart never be so lonely. Much love, Kev.

A revitalised heart is a wonderous thing, happiness to your life can bring, your poem thinks of the future and the part your heart has to play but still holding a special place for the past. May your heart stay warm as your poetry 10 +++ Chhris
