And He Is With You Wherever You Are Poem by Mohammad Younus

And He Is With You Wherever You Are

He is with you wherever you are,
For Allah sees all you do.

You see me, my Lord,
you know how much
I remember you,
When I resist my nafs,
I find you by my side.

You are my best friend,
never leaving me alone.
Even my enemies, united,
cannot subdue me.

My tastebuds dulled,
my eyes grown dim,
Yet you fill my cup with love,
brimming over.

I sit in silence,
my heart's ears open,
to your voice,
Your words sung by you,
sweetness to my ear.

Gracious Lord,
you've promised
I can no longer run from you.
How refreshed I am,
by your promise,
your love won by faith.

Physical strength,
the senses' assistance,
are not required.
You send me help when I tire,
Thee we serve,
and thee we ask for help.

Now I've grown old,
a crown of silvery hair.
Still, I'm blessed to see
your Kingdom's rule
by your Holy Eyes.

At night, alone with you,
I don't miss connection with you.
Every time, you bring me comfort
with your promise to resurrect me,
to be ever in your presence.

Your diamond stones fall on me
like raindrops on my bald head.
Patiently, I'll await the day
you resurrect me from the dead.

My Lord,
by your messengers'
guidance and teachings, I live,
obeying your commandments sincerely.
With you by my side, I will never die.
