You should have won the Oscar
For the way you played your part
Your sound performance in each scene
Was designed to break my heart

I never heard anyone yell
For lights or camera or action
And yet you played in every scene
To the academy's satisfaction

You knew when to breathe laugh and sigh
You pretended you though I was perfect
You master ways to blink and cry
You found my ego and worked it

Your great performance accented
Every dramatic scene you tried
With talent well represented
You took me on a harsh blind ride

You were director star and crew
And every scene became your own
Every scene must focus on you
To dodge the wrath of constant moans

I never heard you yell for lights
I never heard you yell action
That's why I had no will to fight
And you gained full satisfaction


Faithfully I carried your gear
And became numb to weariness
But if it relieved your stress and fear
I was sure it was for the best

But you it seemed had other plans
I was a way to bide your time.
It took a while to understand
That I was the last thing on your mind



My lights were on my mind was gone
Lost in a solid fog called lust
But my sanity reappeared
With confidence and self-trust

You threw up too many defenses
I could see the plot get thicker
And when I came to my senses
No time was left on the ticker

Diva status was hard to please
It tax the mind with useless wear
But I refuse to bend my knees
Or try to bend some diva's ear

Before my mind could settle this
Your movie I didn't get to see
You yelled cut and I was dismissed
That's cool, I hated your movie

I was banned from your studio
There was no begging or pleading
And I chose to quietly go
No knee pads would I be needing

Your movie you could view and edit
That's what you always wanted
You'll loyally take all credit
And be thoroughly self vaunted

There's no single doubt in my mind
That your name will grace every line
From the start this was your project
To the end you were the subject
And the Oscar goes to
