Neighborhood Watch (The Snitch) Poem by Raymond Simmons

Neighborhood Watch (The Snitch)

Rating: 3.8

You want to call me a snitch,
Brother please, be my guest.
You got that right and I confess.
Yes, what you heard is really true,

I'm the one who told on you.
It's something that I had to do.
I don't fear you gangster types,
And I'll do what I think is right.

I have no reason to be devoted to you,
So I will do what I have to do.
I'll report your suspicious crimes,
And lose no sleep nor peace of mind.

You're a mean bully and a thug.
You assault, batter, maim and mug.
And every time my eyes see this
I'll volunteer to be a witness.

I won't be your victim or fool,
And I'll never live by your rule.
Don't stare me down I don't get shook,
Give your mirror that nasty look.

I'm nothing like your timid pets.
I don't respond to empty threats.
Let me be clear beyond a doubt,
If I catch you wrong, I'm ratting you out.

So call me snitch squealer or fink,
I couldn't care less what you think.
Go tell the world that I'm a rat,
I think I'll be okay with that.

You're mean enough to mug a nurse,
You'll even snatched a lady's purse.
I will never stand by and look,
While you practice being a crook.

I won't pretend you're royalty,
Or give you silent loyalty.
Those silent ones don't respect you,
Inner fear makes them protect you.

So call me a snitch, I'm not surprised
That I don't shine bright in your eyes
I feel no guilt, I feel no shame,
I don't play your hooligan game.

If asked, I'll never play dumb or dumber.
I will give up your social security number,
I will describe you down to your
Birthmarks, Piercings, tattoos and scars,
And lose no sleep when they put you behind bars.

I will give up your name, and occupation,
Last known address and present location,
Tell them how little I think you're worth,
And name the doctor who slapped you at birth.

All the people you rob and beat
Will feel relieved when you're off the street.
When justice is served and you're finally caught,
The freedom you crave will be a wishful thought.
There will be no more safe hiding place.
Your ego will fade like smoke in space.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
