And Then Came To Mind… Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

And Then Came To Mind…

Rating: 5.0

My habit filled two,
Recalled thence to mind
Her memories left behind,

All that she did too,
Me a grateful kind,
Oh, what'll I do without you?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
One gets used to the life without the one who has left, but then the life of separation too has to be lived, if alone. Memories may help, habits may, or may hinder, but that is all one has. Here, one fills up two glasses of drink, and then realises, she's no more…. Two Haikus sum up these feelings.

The line ‘Oh, what'll I do without you? ' Is it addressed to one who's no more, or to habits and memories?
COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Rajnish Manga 23 July 2020

Two Haiku's taking stock of the painful void created by one who has left this world. Memories of the shared moments try to assuage but for how long. ‘Oh, what'll I do without you? ' will remain unanswered even if asked with (or without) a drink before you. Aniruddha Sir, this is terrible.
