And Then Some Poem by Dónall Dempsey

And Then Some

Rating: 5.0

Seems like our home
has gone

& broken
down.

I'm fixing everything
including the kitchen.

A group of
Tibetian monks

are chanting OM

non-stop now
for the last twenty minutes.

It disturbs my
tooth fillings

& spooks
the cat.

It's track 10
on the new CD

and you've got it
on replay.

I hum along
to the OM

having compassion for
all things

sentient or non-sentient

even this
damn pipe

that held in
a monkey wrench

suddenly gurgles
vomits all over me.

'Ok! '
('It's clear! ')

I hear myself say

having to holler
above all those OMs.

The room
is now
only
an OM!

You turn
in the middle of

your nude yoga

& flash me

everthing

including that
smile.

The sunlight shines through
your pubic hair.

I stop
in my tracks

all life
all love

seems to flow through
you

in this eternal
second

it's like I've been
enlightened

& the ephiany
is
just
you
just
this
second.

Seems like I wll
remember

that smile

'til the day I die

and then
some

...more.

I cry
at the knowing
of this knowing

you...my zen koan!
