And Today Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

And Today

And today

Today, I, did nothing
Just sat, kept drinking;
Corrected two poems
The work of yester-days
And found me on the wall
Inside shelves, of book-piles.

Quiet was my world
Like a hen on the eggs;
Bare, naked, chest of the
Small and large feathers.

I adore motherhood,
Mothers are so great.

Create and give birth,
Walk on their selfishness.

They accept size-changes
And the shape of breasts
With cracks on their sides…

To purchase the patience
Which is gift of Nature
They pay more to get less.

This is how was my day;
Give and love, devotion…

Until came ugliness
(Thanks to a president,
That is racist, faker
And has fanned the fire
Of colors and genders…)
Heard from radio:
"Send her home! "

They meant the Somalian!
Wish could be a hen that
Uses beak and claws
To call chicks: "I did find! "
