Keep your feelings in check
Whenever that person walks by,
Do not act or look like a wreck
And for God's sake, do not whimper or cry.
Do not mope and do not curse
Never give that person that victory,
Remind yourself of a biblical verse
Maybe think back and read Jezebel's story.
When you see that person give them a smile
Never ever turn away and/ or run,
Remember that they are the one on trial
Not only by you, but also by the Son.
Remember sadly that you are not their first
And truthfully, you won't be their last,
Remember that type of person is truly cursed
In anguish they will always revisit their past.
Forgive and then also forget
Remember it was not ever your fault,
They were just a waste of time and a bad debt
On your wound, they were the salt.
Remember, at them do not ever scream or shout
And never call them any insulting names,
Don't let their ego sprout
By playing one of their silly childish name calling games.
Keep your emotions locked in a box on a shelf
Think of them only as a painful blister,
Keep your feelings only and always to yourself;
And Whisper.
