Angel Of Love Poem by Daya Nandan

Angel Of Love

The skies in my heart were darkened by my past,
Polluted with sadness of a love story i thought would last,
Tormented inside, my nightmares grow without control,
Slowly weakening and devouring my tormented soul,

The pains and torture within take many forms,
But mostly within me they manifested into storms
Raining down heavily upon me with tears of sorrow,
Soaking me with past memories like there is no tomorrow

Storm clouds build upon my already damaged heart,
Striking it with lightning, mercilessly tearing it apart,
One bolt hits the core, shatters it to a million parts,
Damage that can’t be withstood by the strongest hearts

And that is when i died, i became a walking body
With no life left inside with only death to embody,
I am empty and hollow with nothing inside,
Nothing but pain and sadness that i try to hide

But then one day a flicker of light caught my eye,
The storms faded into a clearness within my sky
A beautiful angel descended from the heavens above,
That was you, my magical enticing angel of love,

You embraced me with love and wrapped me in your wings,
Showed me love that is the treasure of gods and kings
You eased my pain, shielded me from my storm within me,
You gave me life, you opened my closed eyes to see,

That the past is not something we live inside,
learn the past, look forward to a future bright and wide
With every smile you picked up the parts of my heart,
You put it back together, you gave my life a brand new start,

You guided me through the storm to a path of love,
And now i am free from the pain, free as a wild dove,
Now i feel love and cherish each moment we are together,
And for that i love you much, i wish to be with you forever.
