Animals Wearing Clothes Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Animals Wearing Clothes

Your tower block looks like a pet shop dystopia
In your apartment is you and an animal wearing clothes
You smell of limited resolve and misdirected frustration
I would not make fun of your frustration
You and an animal wearing clothes taking your meals together

For a deep quagmire of gelatin pacification
Content yourself to share a home with an animal wearing clothes
And gadgets galore
But not another human being

Tending to my houseplants, I am concerned about their growth
Do I need to move them closer to the sun?
Me and an animal wearing the same shirt and I am tending my houseplants
While the possibilities of relationships with people wilt in the shade
